Jabra - Headset settings

Modified on Thu, 29 Feb, 2024 at 10:20 AM

It is especially important that certain settings are set via the JABRA direct application based on the dongle and the headset itself.

If these settings are not correct or set correctly, this will cause the headset to play unwanted sounds or keep playing.

The following challenges can occur if they are not correct:

  • Flexy Desktop ringtone keeps ringing even though there is no incoming phone call.
  • Teams audio that continues to ring even though there is no incoming teams call.

Install the Jabra Direct software.

Navigate to the link below to install the Jabra direct software. This software is necessary to be able to apply certain settings. But also to ensure that your headset and dongle have the latest updates.

Choose the correct operating system here, Windows or MacOs.

Jabra Direct

Open the application after installation. After that you will see following window visible.

As you can see, you can see all the devices/hardware in this application that are connected to your computer. Including the dongle (JABRA LINK 380), and the Jabra Evolve2 75.

Configuration Dongle

Below will be shown all the steps that must be taken to correctly set the settings of the Dongle and the headset.

Step 1: We start by configuring the dongle. You click on the dongle in the Jabra Direct application. Then click on settings.

Step 2: At the first headset tab, choose the Wireless range for Normal.

Step 3: Under Softphone PC, choose the settings below.

Step 4: The configuration of the Dongle is now complete and you can click Save to save the settings.

Configuration Headset

We still need to change a few settings based on the headset.

Step 1: click on the headset and choose settings again.

Step 2: Choose the first tab to provide the softphone settings. Make sure all settings are set as shown below.

Step 3: We scroll down on the same tab. Here we are going to add a name on the 4th dot so that we are always sure that this is our headset. Also check that the settings match what is shown below.

Step 4: We scroll down again on the same tab. Also check here whether the settings match what is shown below. Make sure that the settings are correct where the arrows are next to. These ensure that the ringtone of Teams and/or Flexy desktop does not continue to ring when there is no incoming call.

Step 5: We save these settings and move on to the next tab.

Step 6: On the Softphone tab, we ensure that the setting below is disabled and then we save these changes again.

Phone/Computer configuration

Telephone:

  1. Specify a unique bluetooth device name in your phone.
  2. Connect the Headphone over bluetooth, following the guide below:
    1. -> Press the power button of the headset in bluetooth mode and hold it for about 2 - 3 seconds.
    2. ->The headset tells it to find and connect to the jabra headset (it disappears in the Jabra connect app while connecting).
  3. Search for a headset in the bluetooth menu of the Yealink devices, connect.
  4. If everything is OK, the device is back in Jabra connect with Yealink bluetooth and headset enabled, with a status of "teams ready":

  5. check the audio settings under teams and windows to assign the headset to all settings, otherwise it may give unwanted results of audio passing over the headset, and micro passing over the webcam for example...
