Phishing and suspicious e-mails claiming to be from TelSmart

Phishing is a form of fraud where someone poses as a trustworthy sender, in this case TelSmart, to convince you to click a link, enter personal information, or make a payment. The e-mail often looks very authentic: the same logo, the same branding, and sometimes even a sender address that looks correct at first glance.

At TelSmart, this can happen in two ways. Either our genuine domain telsmart.eu is spoofed, meaning the e-mail shows @telsmart.eu as the sender while we did not actually send it. Or the sender uses a domain that closely resembles ours or appears to be linked to it, such as tel-smart.eu, telsmart-support.eu, or telsmartt.eu.

To handle this type of report, TelSmart has set up a dedicated mailbox: security-alert@telsmart.eu. Any suspicious e-mail posing as TelSmart can be forwarded here, so we can review it and take action if needed.

Not sure whether something is actually phishing? Forward it anyway. It's always better to report something that turns out to be harmless than to ignore something suspicious. There's no downside to forwarding something when in doubt.

When forwarding, it's helpful to include the original message as an attachment rather than as a reply, along with the full sender address and the time you received the e-mail. This helps us trace where the message came from more quickly.

Example: a customer receives an e-mail from facturatie@telsmart-support.eu with a link to a fake payment page. This is a typical case that can be forwarded to security-alert@telsmart.eu.
